Queer confession: black metal
I don’t know why, but there’s just something about skinny white boys with long hair and make up that does it for me. (Okay so I lied, I do know why - skinny, white*, long hair, make up :p). So I thought to try and make a case here about how pretty and queer black metal musicians/aesthetics can be.
[* Whiteness is very exotic for me.]
For the sake of TRU-ness and KVLT-ivity I’m sticking here to TNBM musicians. If you’re into metal at all, consider these bands highly recommended. (However, by recommending these bands and by thinking these people pretty I do not in any way mean to endorse their racist, quasi-Nazi, LGBT-phobic or sexist views [where relevant, as the case may be]).
Let us begin:
A very young Varg Vikernes (aka Count Grishnackh of Burzum) being tried for the murder of Oystein Aarseth (aka Euronymous of Mayhem). Pretty hair, pretty eyes, pretty lips. Too bad about his personality :)

Satyr of the excellent excellent band Satyricon (but only their first 3 albums, the rest is sellout bullshit). I love the way his eyes are so bright and his hair is so black. Also, he’s an amazing vocalist.
Frost of Satyricon. You might not be able to tell through the picture, but the man has a totally queer body language. The way he moves is almost feline. He also always wears eyeliner.

Dead (Per Ohlin) of Mayhem, also known as the person who invented corpse paint. He killed himself quite gruesomely early on the way.

Okay, and here is my one deviation from TNBM - just because he used to be so pretty (regardless of the music, which I wouldn’t really call black metal anyway):
Dani Filth, of Cradle of Filth (not recommended). Just in case you were wondering where Marilyn Manson had gotten his ideas - he was doing it way before, and way better :)
