The Women of Asgarda | In the Ukraine, a country where females are victims of sexual trafficking and gender oppression, a new tribe of empowered women is emerging. Calling themselves the “Asgarda”, the women seek complete autonomy from men. Residing in the Carpathian Mountains, the tribe is comprised of 150 women of varying ages, primarily students, led by 30 year-old Katerina Tarnouska. Reviving the tribal traditions of the Scythian Amazons of ancient Greek mythology, the Asgarda train in martial arts, taught by former Soviet karate master, Volodymyr Stepanovytch, and learn life skills and sciences in order to become ideal women.
omg
I salute you.
Okay I keep seeing this on my dash and no. They sound like a batshit cult, sorry. I wish there was more material available on this group, but I’ve been reading their Russian-language website and I see nothing that inspires hope in me or suggests that this is anything but a Nationalist cult.
The creator talks at great length about defending ~the Motherland~ from unnamed dark forces, speaks of isolating students and getting them into an intense routine of martial arts and prayer, while simultaneously saying that they are “clean” (“white” is the word she uses) and warning them that their old friends and family may regard them as strange - classic attempts at isolation. And did you know the world is full of wicked people who do drugs and it’s important not to listen to the voice of Satan? Also, part of being a good ~warrior~ is being a “good-natured wife” and a “good housekeeper.” Oh boy, sign me up!
And while I haven’t found anything that outright confirms it, which I’m sure is intentional, years of living in Russia and still being in close contact with my sister and other relatives there have taught me to run the other way when I hear Eastern Europeans talking about Ancient Rus’ and the People and the soul of the Slavic peoples.

My complete lack of surprise: let me show you it. If the use of “ideal women” in the first commentary wasn’t a death give away that something was off about this.
