Help: What’s the difference between pansexual and omnisexual?
Clarification: I know what “pansexual” and “omnisexual” mean, and I know their difference from bisexuality. I’m looking specifically for the differences between pan and omni, in light of their similarities, since I don’t adequately understand them.
Both words mean “all-sexual” (pan is Greek and omni is Latin).
I know that there’s a difference because people who identify as either say they’re not interchangeable (“I am pan but not omni”, or vice versa). I also know there’s a difference depending on location (some identity words are more acceptable in certain places than in others).
But what are the differences in meaning/context? What is the difference in messages that these two words carry?
I would love to receive explanations from people who identify as either pan or omni, but would appreciate any information from other people who know about this.
Much obliged ^_^
